June 2025 Shareholder Update

Hi there,

June brought us to the halfway point of 2025, and our strong results for the first half of the year have everyone on the Buffer team energized about what’s possible in the months ahead.

Jenny here, Buffer’s VP of Finance & Operations. I’m looking forward to sharing the next couple of updates with you and keeping you closely connected to the milestones, progress, and plans shaping Buffer’s year.

Notes:

  • We closed June with $1.90M in MRR and $22.85M in ARR, up 22.9% year-over-year. We’ve now seen revenue grow every month for the past year.
  • Our June profit was $177K, even after several one-time expenses and our mid-year salary benchmarking. This brings us to $756K in profit so far this year.
  • Our EBITDA margin reached 10.2% which is the third time in the past four months we’ve been above the 10% mark.
  • Despite a planned outflow of $743K to retire a promissory note and a few other one-time expenses, we ended June with only a $387K reduction in bank balance. Operating cash flow was over $300K (15.8%).
  • Free user activity continues to grow, with free MAU reaching 154,800 users though free-to-paid conversion is an area we’re looking to improve.

Note-worthy updates and reflections

LinkedIn Mentions are here

In June, we launched one of our most requested features: the ability to @-mention personal profiles on LinkedIn directly from Buffer. This update brings us closer to parity with native LinkedIn posting and is a meaningful improvement for customers who rely on Buffer to tell more human, connected stories. Now, when scheduling a post to LinkedIn, users can simply type “@” and search from their existing connections, just as they would natively. There’s more we plan to build here, but this is a strong step forward in making workflows a little smoother.

Creator Camp is now hosted in Buffer

In June, we kicked off a new round of Creator Camp, our 30-day challenge to help creators build a consistent posting habit, and this time we brought the experience directly into Buffer. Using our new Templates Library feature, prompts now appear right where you plan and schedule content in the Create space. It’s a small shift that makes Buffer feel even more like a true companion for creators.

We also introduced Creator Camp Minis, live 30-minute sessions focused on tackling the common roadblocks many creators face, from finding clarity around content pillars to building a workflow that sticks. Our Discord community continues to be the heartbeat of Camp, with creators showing up daily to share wins, swap feedback, and support one another.

With daily prompts, Streaks, Posting Goals, and a strong sense of community, Creator Camp is becoming a meaningful way for creators to find rhythm, stay motivated, and feel less alone in the process. We’re excited to keep evolving it from here.

What’s Coming Up

Refining the scheduling experience

We’re in the midst of rolling out a revised scheduling experience in the Composer, shaped by several rounds of internal feedback and user input. This update brings clearer language and a more intuitive layout to the way posts are scheduled. These updates better reflect how customers think about posting, while still aligning with how Buffer works behind the scenes.

We’ve also extended this new design to all new post creation flows and added the ability for users to set their preferred scheduling behavior in Settings. This small touch helps Buffer feel more personal and efficient, especially for power users with established workflows.

The final step will be bringing this experience to post editing states, which is currently in progress. In parallel, we’re running a small A/B test with new signups to better understand how these changes support onboarding and posting habits. It’s another example of how we’re refining core parts of the product to feel more thoughtful, modern, and creator-friendly.

Thank you for being a part of our journey and for your continued support. Feel free to reply if you have any thoughts or questions.

– Jenny, VP of Finance & Operations
